Ingredients
•3 ¾ cups (450g) all-purpose flour
•2 teaspoons (7g) instant yeast
•1 ½ teaspoons (8g) salt
•2 tablespoons (30g) sugar
•1 ¼ cups (300ml) warm milk
•2 tablespoons (28g) unsalted butter
•1 large egg
•Non-stick spray or butter for greasing
Instructions
1.Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
2.Add warm milk, butter, and egg, stirring to form a dough.
3.Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth.
4.Let it rise in a greased bowl for 1–1.5 hours.
5.Shape the dough into a loaf and place in a greased loaf pan.
6.Allow a second rise for 30–40 minutes.
7.Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25–30 minutes.
8.Cool before slicing and serving.
Notes
• Ensure the milk is warm, not hot, to avoid killing the yeast.
